Beany
BEANY joined the kennels way back in February. She has previously kennelled with a boy and gets on with male and female hounds. She is a medium sized, black girl, 5 years old (6 in January). She has never lived in a home.

BEANY loves treats and attention. She is a real foodie. She would be best walked with a harness in the early days until she has settled in her new home.

BEANY has had a couple of park visits (the latest just at the weekend) and this is how she got on:

FIRST VISIT.

BEANY met a laid back labrador, sniffed and moved on. She froze a little when a jogger approached, but didn't panic. She then met a patterdale cross who was off lead. She sniffed and then ignored him as he and his owner walked along with BEANY and her handler.

She flinched when the patterdale sniffed her again, but Martin thinks she forgot he was there!

On meeting an elderly beagle, again BEANY sniffed and ignored. When standing with the beagle's owners, BEANY was not concerned by the man's presence. She was calm when near traffic, but flinched with unexpected noises.

SECOND VISIT.

BEANY was lifted into and out of the car. On arrival at the park, she was keen to meet a spaniel, but the dog was walking away. She tried to play 'follow that dog', but then gave up and carried on with her walk.

At the main park, she spotted two more lively spaniels playing. BEANY was watching them intently and pulled forward to greet and play with them. (Controlled with the harness).

They came over to say hi briefly and all exchanged sniffs. She got a scritch from the owner while still watching the spaniel entertainment!

The spaniels went off to play. BEANY would have loved to join in too as she's a playful soul with a fun side to her. She could live with other dogs, as she is sociable and enjoys their company.

BEANY also likes people and tried to greet a few that passed. She then tried to follow a couple walking the other way, wearing her best 'Adopt Me' face!

Onward to the high street, where she was quite flighty at times with lots of activity going on (unexpected sights and sounds). Cars passing on the road in particular caused her to be a bit nervous and turn her head around, however, she proceeded to walk down the high street.

BEANY is a good walker and, even if there are sudden triggers, she can be prompted to keep walking easily.

BEANY is such a delightful, sweet girl, who is sociable with dogs and humans. She might need a little time to adjust to the sudden sights and sound /busyness of the outside world. She has masses of potential, could live with a compatible dog, subject to successful meet and greet and will make an amazing companion.
