Georgia

Meet a cutie, patootie who is fun, friendly and waiting for a loving home. Georgia is a petite, black beauty with a white tux and teeny white socks. Her age is still to be confirmed, this will be updated soon. She has lovely brown eyes and charming, animated ears, which are soft and floppy. Will they flop forward, sideways or point upwards in radar mode? This wee poppet is a confident greeter at her kennel gate who likes to come and say hi to passers by, she is very happy to have chin scratches and also expects a treat. When you are visiting Georgia please note she loves schmacko’s or any tasty treat, thank you very much. She can be bouncy and excitable prior to getting out for a walk, understandable as she loves going out for an adventure and once out walking she calms down and trots at a good pace at your side. She can be alert to her surroundings, cue those ears! Georgia is sociable with fellow greyhounds and a few of the wee girls here love walking with her. On a walk to the park, she was lifted into the car and took a little time to settle. Although timid while out she was alert and had a high prey drive with her radar ears at the ready, she did walk well on the lead. Georgia met three off lead Spaniels and happily shared sniffs with them, she was a very good girl. She’s flighty and unsure of traffic noise but with more experiences out and about she should get used to them. As she is so friendly and easy going we expect she could live with another dog, with slow and measured introductions to see how compatible they would be living together. With little experience of the outside world, we recommend gentle introductions for her in her new life, with time, patience and love to allow her to settle into a new life as a pet. In sweet Georgia you will find a friendly girl who has the makings of a loyal, loving pet and companion. Please ask about her.

GEORGIA was taken on a return visit the local park to cheer her up as she’s feeling a bit down since her long-term kennelmate CHIP was recently homed.

GEORGIA was lifted into and out of the car for the short journey and was initially reluctant to get out. With a little encouragement, she jumped out eventually.

On arrival, she saw a cocker spaniel and a dachshund running off lead towards her and her tail was wagging. She was sociable and they all exchanged sniffs, plus she didn’t mind her rear being sniffed.

GEORGIA is a good walker on a lead and liked to take in her surroundings as she walked. She met a few other dogs along the path, including a bichon frise. They briefly sniffed, she had a treat and then continued on her way. Another dachshund passed without her really taking any interest.

GEORGIA has the potential to live with another confident, compatible dog, subject to successful introductions, but, being an affectionate wee soul, could also be an only hound.

Note that occasionally GEORGIA would stop walking and look around, to take it all in. When she’s ready to walk, she will continue and responds to kindness and gentle encouragement. While walking beside the road, she was startled by a car that appeared suddenly. Again, with encouragement, she continued. In a home setting, she should get used to this with time and familiarity.

GEORGIA is such a wonderful, girl who has lots of love to give and will make a fabulous companion. We are so sad that she has had to wait so long. GEORGIA more than deserves her Christmas wish – a forever home at last.
