Matt

Matt is a unique and special soul, who deserves a chance of a loving home, as he has been waiting almost the equivalent of 12 dog years in kennels. He has got it all, with his head turning good looks and his big, fun personality. Yet he has been overlooked for too long, through no fault of his own and deserves a forever home. Matt is five years old and a medium sized statuesque boy. He has beautiful brown eyes and a stunning brindle coat. He is athletic and he can be bouncy initially, as he likes to let off short bursts of energy at the start of his walks, but once he is out walking he is a super walker on a lead and he is a pleasure to walk. He also likes to play with toys and zoom around in the run, he releases short bursts of energy. Matt also likes to chill out and take it easy after his walk, lounging in his bed and if he is outside he likes to sunbathe, so a garden where he could play and relax would be perfect for him. He walks well with most greyhounds, even some of the trickier hounds here but he can be picky with a couple of dogs (could be high school rivals) so he will need some time with gradual introductions to get used to other dogs, especially non sight hound breeds. Well, you can't love everybody all the time, can you! While on a walk to the local park he met three whippets and was completely relaxed and accepting of them.

Matt can find kennel life stressful at times and as he has no experience of life outside the kennel situation he will need a home that is patient and understands him and the huge upheaval that many rescue dogs experience when transitioning to home life. He is not a first time owner greyhound, but he would blossom in an experienced, knowledgeable home, understanding of what might make him unsure or worried. He needs time and patience, with a confident owner to find his feet in the outside world. We feel he may be most comfortable as an only dog, however, never say never with the right compatible canine pal, it might work.

MATT has many fans at the kennels, who adore him, his quirky side and his affectionate loving side, who are rooting for him to capture the heart of a special adopter. We would just urge potential adopters to enquire about him. Could that be you? Why not ask to meet him?
