Tom 4
TOM is a most handsome, medium sized black boy, still only 2 years old. Young TOM has no races to his name. He is quite strong but is a nice walker and seems sociable. He is just finding his feet and is sometimes a bit overwhelmed but starting to get to know the routine here.

TOM was a bit of a nervous nellie when he first arrived at GRF some days ago. We know he just wants to be brave and he is already getting there. TOM went to the local park and here is how he got on:

TOM was nervous getting into the car, his tail between his legs. However, once in, he settled and lay down for the short trip to the park.

At the beginning of the walk TOM was quite reserved, but got more confident when he started to meet other dogs. He met a border terrier and was quite calm as they exchanged sniffs. When he passed a couple of other dogs on the path, he was interested to say hi and then trotted along on his way. For TOM, it's one sniff and then no more interest (nice and neutral, we like that).

When he got to the open space of the park he sighted two dogs off lead chasing a ball. TOM was understandably very interested and stood still watching them play. He then continued walking while taking in his surroundings.

TOM met a young labrador pup, they exchanged sniffs and he was ok with the pup having a sniff of his tail. Meanwhile he watched dogs running around the park. He’s a very observant chap!

When TOM met a group of people he happily leaned in while he was stroked and complimented on his very soft coat. After this spot of adoration he needed a bit of encouragement to start to walk again. TOM loves a fuss and wanted more. A harness helped to get him moving again.

TOM stopped a few times at windows to see his reflection.

He was ok with a car passing in the road as he walked.

TOM, you aced it, you surpassed our expectations. Overall you were a good boy who walked well on the lead, occasionally a bit pully, but easily sorted by a harness and encouragement.

This unraced lad has SO MUCH POTENTIAL so, if you would like to meet TOM, please in the first instance call Celia on 07826 244765 for more details.
